# Reschedule, Cancellation & Waitlist

## Self-service reschedule

Customers can move their own schedule via the link in the confirmation email or the **My Booking** page. They don't need an account.

You set the rules under **Settings → Setting → Payment tab**:

* **Reschedule deadline** — how many hours before the appointment reschedule is still allowed.
* **Maximum reschedules** — how many times one booking can be moved.

Past that deadline, the button no longer appears and the customer is directed to contact you. You can still move it from the portal without that restriction.

## Cancellation

Same pattern: **Settings → Setting → Payment tab** determines how many hours before the appointment cancellation is still allowed. When a booking is cancelled, any voucher used has its quota restored, and provider commission is not calculated.

## Waitlist

If a slot is full, customers can join the waitlist instead of leaving. The list of interested customers appears in your portal, so when a cancellation happens you know exactly who to contact.

## Booking window

**Settings → Setting → Payment tab** also controls how far in advance customers can book. This is useful if your schedule is only finalized close to the day, or conversely if you want to accept bookings far in advance.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.diro.app/en/booking/reschedule-cancellation-and-waitlist.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
